Cotton Candy Range - Navy, Red & Grey

This range is a combination of Bamboo and Turkish Cotton. It only takes one wash to break it in and you’re ready to roll. It relies on a looser weaving technique and pre washing compared to the traditional cotton towel. It does not rely on chemical additives.

Variations of colour and weave are characteristic of these loomed items. At times the colour in the photo may not match the towel you receive. This is due to each batch  being dyed differently.  As you can imagine all our towels are made by different artisans which means differences in colour and weave will occur.

Care Instructions

We recommend washing your Turkish Murkish™ a few times before use, to break them in, as they become softer and more absorbent with each wash.  A cold or warm gentle wash and line dry is recommended. Washing in a mesh laundry bag helps keep the tassels intact. Expect a little shrinkage as the cotton is in its pure form. No chemicals have been used to treat the cotton. Hence why the towels are quite stiff when you purchase them. If a tassel unravels just split the tassel into two and twist them separately until they spiral together as one and tie a knot. Or just leave it alone. It adds to the towels authentic look.  If your towels threads have a pull, just simply snip it. Due to the weaving process it will not make a hole.

If towels are exposed to oil, soil, and germs, wash in warm water at a maximum of 30°C for dark towels and 40°C for light towels using laundry detergent.

As the tassels are all hand knotted, they may unravel when washed with other clothing. To prolong this we recommend washing your towels in mesh laundry bags.

If they do unravel, don’t worry, it just shows the towel is an authentic Turkish Towel it won’t take away from its character.

Spot treat stains.

Do not bleach. Bleach damages the cotton fibres of the towel, making it less absorbent and soft.

To maximize the absorbency of a towel, add a cup of white vinegar to the rinse cycle once a month, to restore the towel to full absorbency. The vinegar removes any excess detergent which builds up after successive washes and can sometimes affect the towels’ absorbency.

As all our towels are woven, a pulled loop will not unravel the towel. If you catch the towel and pull a loop, cut off the pulled loop with a pair of scissors.
